5 Clear Indicators Your Commercial AC Replacement Is Necessary

Blog

If you're a business owner, you know that your commercial air conditioning (AC) unit is vital to the comfort of your customers and employees. Not to mention, it's also a significant investment. So when it comes time to replace your AC unit, you want to be sure that it's absolutely necessary.

Here are five clear indicators that it's time for a replacement.

1. The unit requires frequent repairs

A commercial AC unit is a significant investment, and it's important to get the most out of that investment by carefully maintaining the unit and replacing it when necessary. If you find yourself calling for service more and more often, it's a good sign that it's time for an upgrade. Not only will a new unit be more reliable, but it will also be more energy-efficient, which can save you money in the long run.

2. You're expanding your business

If you've outgrown your current office space and are moving to a bigger facility, it's important to make sure that your AC system is up to the task of cooling a larger area. An experienced HVAC contractor will be able to assess your current system and make recommendations for an upgrade that will meet the needs of your expanded business. By investing in a new AC system now, you can avoid the hassle and expense of having to replace it in the future.

3. You're seeing a spike in energy bills

If you've noticed a sudden increase in your energy bills, it could be due to an inefficient AC unit. Older units tend to lose efficiency over time, which means they have to work harder to cool your business. Upgrading to a new, energy-efficient unit can help you save money on your monthly bills and reduce your carbon footprint.

4. The unit isn't keeping up with demand

During the summer months, your AC system has to work overtime to keep your business cool and comfortable. If you find that your unit can't keep up with the demand, it's time for an upgrade. A new unit will be able to cool your business more effectively, making it a more comfortable place for employees and customers alike.

5. You're hearing strange noises

If your AC unit is making weird noises, it's a sign that something is wrong. In some cases, the noise may be due to a simple problem that can be fixed with a repair. However, if the noise is coming from the compressor, it's a sign that the unit is failing and needs to be replaced.

If you're noticing any of these signs, it's time to start thinking about replacing your commercial AC unit. An experienced HVAC contractor can help you assess your needs and find a unit that will meet the demands of your business. Investing in a new AC system now can save you money and keep your business comfortable for years to come.

Cool off Your AC Bill

Every summer, I agonized over energy bills that would shoot into the stratosphere as a result of my efforts to keep cool in the heat. Every time I turned the temperature down, my bills increased. This summer, I decided to take some of the control over my energy bill back. I installed reflective film on my windows that reduced the amount of light and heat coming into the house. I started serving more cold meals or asking my husband to barbecue outside, so that my air conditioner didn't have to compete with the hot stove, and I started doing laundry at night to reduce appliance heat in the house at peak times. I also had ceiling fans installed. So far, the difference in my bill has been tremendous. This blog is a way for me to explore other ways to reduce energy drain during the summer months.
